Welcome speech

Dear colleagues and friends,

On behalf of the board of directors of the 8th congress of the Asian Organization for Mycoplasmology (AOM), it is my great pleasure to welcome all of you to attend the Joint Conference of the 8th meeting of the Asian Organization for Mycoplasmology( AOM ) and the 9th Meeting of the Chinese Organization for Mycoplasmology (COM)   in Nanjing, a charming city with an historical scenic on the bank of Yangze River.

2021 marks the comeback of the AOM congress in China since the last congress was held in Zhangjiajie, China in 2014. The Asian Organization for Mycoplasmology( AOM ) was founded by 9 pioneering members lead by Dr. In-Jen Pan (Japan ) in 2001, and is devoted to the study and the   share of   the information and research achievements among of Mycoplasma in Asian countries.

In September of 2021, the two-day lectures, symposia, live webinar and posters will cover recent developments in basic mycoplasmological researches and clinical studies. It is our hope that the joint congress will dedicate the opportunity to develop our understanding of the complexity of mycoplasma infections and their diseases, and to expand the knowledge from the bench to the clinics for accurate diagnosis and better treatment. It is also a great moment for each of us to exchange information, and become better connected with our colleagues in Asian countries.

The Local Organizing Committee chaired by Hongmei Sun and Zhixin Feng have been working hard to ensure an attractive venue at the International Conference Ceter for the success of this Congress. We express our deep gratitude to all the members of those committees. Your academic involvement, participation, and interest will greatly contribute to the success of the Congress.

The fall in Nanjing is the golden season. I hope that each of you will enjoy the beautiful scenic of the city during your stay in Nanjing.
